Everything You Need to Know About Batavia High School Registration (Which Is Aug. 6, By the Way)

There's plenty going on as the school year approaches for Batavia High School.

Everything you need to know about Batavia High School registration is in this document. OK, not everything, but it's a start. 

What you need to know is when and where the registration event is and how to make payments and change your courses and how to register for athletics and locker sharing (for some seniors) and ... well, you get the idea.

Here are tips and valuable information, provided courtesy of School District 101. 

1. Registration Event

Batavia School District 101's registration event takes place from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 6 at Batavia High School, starting in the BHS cafeteria.

Because the date is during the no-contact week for athletes, a second date is scheduled for 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 13. 

2. Payments

Fees for the upcoming school year may be paid in PowerSchool beginning Aug. 1. Schedules can be viewed after payment is made.

3. Course Change Requests

When you are able to view your schedule, you may have some questions or wish to request a change. On the registration days (Aug. 6 and 13), guidance staff will be assisting new families only.  

Schedule changes are only made for a limited number of students. These changes are due to either an imbalance in a student’s schedule or an error in the course assigned. Student schedules will not be changed based on teacher preference. 

If you would like to request a schedule change for your child, complete the request form on the BHS website under the “Parents” section. Officials will attempt to meet every request, but may be limited due to scheduling constraints. Parents will receive an email within a week of your request indicating the result. Staff will only make changes that are requested electronically.

 

4. Athletic Registration

The Batavia Athletic Department has a new athletic registration process. If you wish to register your son/daughter for BHS athletics, you must do so online at this link: http://www.bhsathleticsregistration.com/

 

5. Office Hours for Aug. 16

All BHS offices will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to noon Aug. 16 for all-staff meetings. Offices will be open from noon to 3 p.m.

 

6. School Supplies

Teachers will inform the students on the first day of classes about any supplies needed for their courses. Students should be prepared with paper and pen for the first day of class.

 

7. Key Dates for 2013-2014 (Update)

8. Locker Sharing

A group of seniors have been assigned “locker partners” due to a locker shortage. The affected seniors received an email to their BPS account.

 

9. Summer Work for AP/Honors Courses

Students enrolled in some honors or AP courses for the 2013-14 school year may need to complete some work prior to beginning the class. Students who need to complete this work received a communication for the teacher of the course.  All summer work can also be found on the Honors/AP table at this link: https://bhs.bps101.net/curriculum-overview
