River Street Open Again in Batavia

One of Batavia's prized downtown streets is open again to vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian traffic. River Street reopened earlier this month with a new look and feel. The public is invited to join City officials on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at 4:00 PM on River and State Street for a ribbon cutting ceremony. Guests are then encouraged to dine downtown and join the community on the Batavia Riverwalk at 5:30 PM for the Annual Celebration of Lights presented by the Batavia Park District. River Street is the first street in a series of streetscape projects to take place in the downtown over the next several years.
