Batavia Woman Cited After Rollover Crash on Main Street Feb. 10

The woman's car veered off the road, crashed through a fence and struck a utility pole, according to police.

The Batavia woman that went to the hospital after a one-car crash earlier this month on Main Street received a citation in the incident, police said. The 34-year-old woman was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, according to a Batavia police crash report. The incident occurred at 11:27 a.m. Feb. 10 on the 1300 block of Main Street. Conditions were wet and icy on the roadway when the woman lost control of her crossover sport-utility vehicle. She struck a city street sign pole with signs, a fence on Mooseheart property and a wooden ComEd electric utility pole, the report said. The woman's vehicle rolled over and came to stop on its roof. UPDATE: Woman Transported After Rollover Crash on Main Street in Batavia Sunday

The vehicle went through a fence and snapped a pole, officials said. Here's more info.

One female was taken to the hospital after a single-vehicle rollover crash that snapped a utility pole Sunday on Batavia's west side, officials said. The incident occurred on Main Street between Feece Drive and Batavia Fire Station 2, said Randy Zies, Batavia Fire battalion chief. Station 2 is located at 1400 Main Street. One sport-utility or station wagon-type vehicle was involved in the crash. Emergency crews were initially dispatched to the scene at 11:27 a.m. Sunday. We lost power for some time. I believe it was after the accident though and some trucks were headed that way. So I assume ComEd took it down to do some repairs.   more ›
