A 50-year-old woman faces a fine of up to $500, four juveniles were cited with underage drinking and scores of teens got in trouble after officers broke up a Nov. 2 party in St. Charles. Lisa J. Lorenzini, 50, of the 200 block of Persimmon Drive, was cited with social hosting, a local ordinance punishable by a fine of at least $250 and as much as $500, St. Charles police said. Four St. Charles teens, ages 15, 16, 17 and 17, were charged with possession/consumption of alcohol by a minor, police said. According to St. Charles police, officers were called to Persimmon and Hunt Club drives on a report of an underage drinking party. A judge rules in June to quash evidence due to an unlawful search of the Robert M. Caruso household. But a motion is filed to reconsider, and the next hearing is Aug. 20.
Back in June, a Kane County judge quashed the arrest of a Geneva man charged with allowing an underage drinking party at his home during Homecoming weekend in October 2011. Now the Kane County State's Attorney's Office has filed a motion to reconsider that ruling, and the next hearing is scheduled for Aug. 20, according to the Kane County 16th Circuit Court website. Michelle Caruso, the wife of defendant Robert Caruso, said Judge M. Katherine Moran on June 7 upheld a motion to quash evidence, based on an illegal search. That ruling had not been reported on Geneva Patch until now. “It is hereby ordered defendant Robert M. The Batavia teen accused of throwing two underage drinking parties in two days is out of jail. A total of $1,650 was posted for Andrew Pederson, 19, to leave the Kane County Jail on Wednesday night. The amount was the required 10 percent of the $16,500 bail set by Judge Allen Anderson on Monday. Pederson is charged with one felony count of criminal damage to government-supported property—a Batavia Police squad car—and several misdemeanor charges tied to two underage drinking parties. 19-year-old Andrew Pederson remains in the Kane County Jail following two incidents at the east-side home where he lives.
A Kane County judge on Monday set bail for a 19-year-old Batavia man following two police-reported underage drinking parties at his house. Andrew P. Pederson is being held on $16,500 bail, according to county court records. To apply for bond and be released, Hayes or someone else needs to pay 10 percent of the bail, or $1,650. A separate $46 bond fee must also be paid. Batavia Police on Saturday and Sunday reported to Pederson's residence on the 800 block of Pottawatomie Trail for underage drinking parties. The Batavia teen behind Saturday’s underage drinking party was sent to jail after he held another drinking party late Sunday night, according to police and court records. Andrew Pederson, 19, was sent to the Kane County Jail early Monday morning. He faces several charges stemming from Sunday’s party, including criminal damage to a police vehicle and residential delivery of alcohol to a minor.
