Two sport-utility vehicles were involved in a crash Wednesday that halted rush-hour traffic in Geneva, officials said. The crash occurred on State Street (Route 38) at South Lincoln Avenue. The Geneva Fire Department was dispatched to the scene at 6:12 p.m., Fire Lt. Kevin Forest said. One SUV did end up on its side, but no one had to be transported. Everyone was treated and released at the scene, Forest said. "Everyone was out of their vehicles by the time we got there," he said. Traffic was shut down on Route 38 within minutes of the crash, which occurred while rush hour was in full swing. Woman taken to Delnor after experiencing dizziness, vision loss prior to accident.
A St. Charles woman was hospitalized after her vehicle crashed and rolled onto its top Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 21, 2012, on Red Gate Road. Samantha M. Plezbert, 19, of the 5N300 block of Fence Rail Court, was driving a 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser when the crash occurred about 1:44 p.m. in the 400 block of Red Gate Road, west of Meadow View Drive. A St. Charles Police Department accident report states that Plezbert was westbound on Red Gate when she experienced dizziness and blurred vision, and then was unable to see anything. The vehicle continued westbound but crossed the eastbound lane and left the roadway, struck a sign post and then made contact with three trees and began to roll over, ending up on its roof.
