There have been arguments on Patch over this topic, and comments galore. Now it's time for the definitive Readers' Choice. Who has the best burger in the Tri-Cities? Nominations were accepted on Geneva, Batavia and St. Charles Patch through July 9. Now it's time for you to decide. Winners in all Readers' Choice categories will be announced on Aug. 24. The poll will open to accept votes from registered Patch users starting on July 23 and close at 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 17.

When it comes to bucolic, the folks in St. Charles, Batavia and Geneva know how to make the best of it. There's Quarry Beach and Engstrom and Wheeler and Island and Mount St. Mary and Johnson's Mound and on and on and on. There are neighborhood parks so gorgeous they take your breath away. There are dog parks, skating parks, bike parks galore. Given all of that—what's your favorite? Which one has the most history, bring back a fond memory, is the nesting place where you and your family find solace, serenity or just plain fun? One of the many things to be proud of in the Tri-Cities is each community's commitment to the arts. And gradually, through the years, we've been fortunate to attract a number of oustanding art galleries. Obviously, art is subjective. One man's Braque is not another man's Bellini. The same, perhaps, holds true with art galleries. It's hard to pick a favorite. But "you must, you must," as Gene Wilder said in the classic art film, Blazing Saddles. We have some winners! Patch readers have spoken, and Shady Hill Gardens in Elburn was selected as the Favorite Local Greenhouse or Nursery. Shady Hill was chosen by having the highest number of poll votes, 22. This represents 45 percent of all votes cast.
