At this time of the year, when vehicle burglaries always seem to heat up, it's good to see an arrest by Batavia police. Burglary to Motor Vehicle Arrest—Batavia police arrested David M. Santo, 27, of North Aurora and Thomas Knight, 19, of Aurora on charges of burglary around 12:42 a.m. May 8, reports said. They were transported to the Kane County Jail. Burglary to Motor Vehicle—Someone went through a glove box of a vehicle parked May 11 in the 500 block of Carriage Drive and left a message in the glove box. Two arrests on charges of between 2.5 and 10 grams of marijuana plus an arrest for possession of a controlled substance were part of this week's Batavia police blotter. Possession of Controlled Substance—Batavia police arrested Tanya Gregoire, 24, of Geneva on charges of possession of a controlled substance around 10:31 p.m. May 15 at the Steak 'n Shake parking lot, 1901 McKee St., reports said. The report describes the controlled substance as “other drug, any amount.” Gregoire was transported to the Kane County Jail. NAPERVILLE A woman who moved out of an apartment in the 200 block of East Bailey Road two months ago returned to the apartment May 15 and asked the property manager if she could get her belongings. She was told by the property manager that the apartment was cleaned out and she was not allowed to enter, police said. A resident then saw the woman scale the balconies to get to her old apartment on the third floor, but she was not able to gain entry, police said. CLARENDON HILLS An apartment tenant on the 200 block of North Richmond Avenue wrote in magic marker on his door that "any trespassers will be shot," according to a police report. Criminal damage compliants included three arrests between May 6 and May 12, 2013. 19-Year-Old Faces Multiple Charges Batavia police arrested Robert G. Byland, 19, of Batavia on charges of criminal damage to property under $300, unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident around 5:15 a.m. May 12 in the 1000 block of Winnegago Trail, reports said. NAPERVILLE Sometime between May 3 and May 6, someone entered a recreation facility in the 800 block of Corday Drive by bending a small sliding bar latch. Once inside, the subject defecated on the floor of the gym's women's restroom, police said. ST. CHARLES Tye Preston Warden, 47, of the 900 block of North Highland Avenue, Aurora, was charged at 10:11 a.m. May 3 on the 500 block of Randall Road, with driving while license revoked, a Class 4 felony, and violating the electronic home monitoring program, a Class 3 felony. Possession of Drug Equipment—Geneva police arrested Zachary Duncan, 18, listed as “homeless” on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, for having in his possession one multicolored pipe and one makeshift pipe crafted out of a hollowed-out pen, reports said. A 71-year-old motorcycle driver attempting to pass a vehicle crashed on Blackman Drive at the intersection of Blackman Court around 3:05 p.m. May 6, Geneva police reports said. Kenneth Musil, 71, of Geneva was driving a Honda CN250 east on Blackman Drive while a GMC Cutaway driven by Sandra Roman, 54, of Bartlett was stopped eastbound in the intersection of Blackman Drive waiting to turn left onto Blackman court. The motorcyclist attempted to pass the GMC on the left as the GMC was activating its turn signal, reports said. Musil “made an evasive action to avoid striking” the GMC, lost control and crashed on the driver’s right side of the motorcycle. Musil was taken to Delnor Hospital by Medic 251. After it was over, police were approached by an unknown woman who said there was a man inside the bathroom with a serious injury. The man had a visibly swollen lip and appeared somewhat dazed. BURR RIDGE Someone at 9:50 p.m. March 29 reported a suspicious person walking a leash without a dog on the 100 block of Tower Drive. Upon arrival, police saw a male place a dog into his vehicle. There was no criminal activity, police said. CLARENDON HILLS A woman at 3:48 p.m. April 24 found two kids' target arrows in her back yard on the 300 block of Ridge Avenue. Police found that some children next door play "Harry Potter with bows/arrows," according to a police report. An officer spoke with parents at the children's address and advised them of the proper ordinances and supervising their children's safety. This is an ongoing issue between neighbors, the report said.
