Here's a roundup of criminal trespass and property damage or defacement for the week of March 7 through March 14, collected from reports at the Batavia Police Department. Criminal Defacement of Property—Someone spray painted a stop sign at Union and Water Street, according to a report dated March 13. Criminal Trespass to Land—Batavia police arrested Robert H. Rivers-Teague, 23, of Markham, IL, for criminal trespass to property at 1179 E. Wilson. An Internet search shows that as the address as a store location. Rivers-Teague has a court date of April 9. Batavia theft reports include one missing iPhone from Goodwill and four stolen rings from a residence.
Someone was good enough to turn in five license plates to the Batavia Police Department and other people were bad enough to take four rings with a $1,000 value from a residence and an iPhone from Goodwill. These were collected from the Batavia blotter of March 7 through March 14. Theft Over $500—Someone took four rings from a residence March 12 in the 1000 block Lorlyn Circle, reports said. The total value of the rings was estimated at $1,000. Theft Over $500—Someone took an iPhone 4 from Goodwill, 450 N. Randall Road, according to a report filed March 11. The phone was valued at $500. To borrow from the marketing campaign, it sounds like an inspired theft for Dudes and Bettys.
If you checked out the Hollister website on Friday, you might have noticed a "secret sale" going on for T-shirts of all styles. Prices of the sale items ranged form $8.75 to $29.75, and a lot were 60 percent off. Someone apparently got away with 100 percent off from the Geneva Commons Hollister back on Feb. 23—a savings of about $1,700. An unknown person or persons took 98 T-shirts from Hollister, 314 Commons Drive, sometime between 3:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. Feb. 23, Geneva police reports said. An employee and a store manager told police the shirts were on several shelves near the front of the store. The employees checked inventory control to determine that 98 T-shirts were missing. The value of the shirts is estimated at $1,700. …

Here are a few of the miscellaneous items collected last week at the Batavia Police Department. Intoxicated Subject—Police were called to the 500 block of Franklin Street at around 1:46 a.m. Feb. 23 for a report of man pounding on a door. The subject, from Addison, was “extremely intoxicated” and had pounded on the door of the wrong residence looking for his friends. Paramedics were called to check the subject but he declined care. BATAVIA Feb. 13: Sam L. Erwin, 53, of the 1200 block of Fagan Road, Batavia, was cited for the following: Two drivers, including Erwin, were involved in the crash. The crash occurred at 6:17 p.m. at Towne Avenue and Millview Drive, according to a police report. Erwin was arrested shortly thereafter on Halladay Drive, about two-tenths of a mile from the crash. Erwin posted $150 and his driver's license for bond. He was given a March 20 court date. Peters, 50, of the 6N200 block of Woodland Drive, St. Charles, was driving on Route 71 near Legion Road, southwest of Yorkville, when a Kendall County sheriff’s deputy clocked him driving 104 mph in a 55 mph zone about 10:27 p.m. Although the report lacked details, it did state that Peters’ arrest on a charge of speeding was followed with a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. MONDAY, JAN. 28 Deontae C. Nichols, 22, of the 1700 block of Wessel Court, was charged at 4:14 p.m. at Lundeen’s Liquor World, 610 E. Main St., with retail theft. Police say the store had video of Nichols taking an item, later determined to be a Remy Martin Cognac set valued at $41.99, and then leaving the store without paying. Nichols was last seen at the St. Charles Public Library, 1 S. 6th Ave., where police found him with the cognac in his possession. He posted $150 cash bond and paid a $50 booking fee and was released pending a Feb. 14 appearance in Kane County Branch Court.
