Locations, Details Set for Andrea Will's Vigil
More than 20 vigils are planned today across North America to honor the murdered Batavia resident.
Family and friends will conduct vigils today around the country to remember the late Andrea Will. Will was murdered on Feb. 2, 1998, when she was a freshman at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. Her ex-boyfriend Justin Boulay of St. Charles was sentenced to 24 years in prison for her death. He is being released on parole today for good behavior after serving about 12 years. Batavia Patch has details for the following Illinois vigils: Will's mother and sister will attend a vigil on the Batavia Riverwalk. The vigil will begin at 6 p.m. at the Peg Bond Center, 151 Island Ave. Candles for the vigil will be provided at the event. It seems only right that Denise Crosby of the Beacon-News receive credit for breaking this story several days before anyone else; if memory serves it was she who informed the Honolulu TV news operation, who in turn publicized it there and alerted the prosecutor. It was more than a week before the Tribune was embarrassed enough to do a story.   more ›
