A St. Charles man has been convicted of severely injuring a man when he sucker-punched him outside a bar more than three years ago, the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office announced Thursday. A Kane County jury late Tuesday, April 9, 2013, convicted Jack R. Gray, 29, of the 700 block of Westfield Drive, St. Charles, of two counts of aggravated battery, each a Class 3 felony. At about 1:40 a.m. Oct. 3, 2009, Gray and a friend began to argue with the victim and his friend outside a tavern in the 200 block of West Main Street, St. Charles, according to authorities. A St. Charles man and former Auroran has been sentenced to eight years in prison for sexually assaulting a developmentally disabled woman in the home of her boyfriend last June. Gary R. Kluber, 67, of the 100 block of South 10th Avenue, St. Charles, who pleaded guilty Feb. 2 to a Class 1 felony county of criminal sexual assault, was sentenced late Wednesday, April 3, 2013, by Circuit Judge John A. Barsanti, according to a release from the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office. By Illinois law, Kluber must serve at least 85 percent of the eight-year sentence to the Illinois Department of Corrections, according to the release. A suspect has been arrested and charges have been filed in the March 1 home invasion and shooting incident in the 200 block of Laurel Drive, North Aurora police report. Detectives identified Quintin D. Mullen, 22, of the 1700 block of Felten Road, Aurora as a suspect and then issued an “Attempt To Locate” bulletin to area police agencies on Monday night. Mullen was arrested by officers of the Aurora Police Department around 4:25 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, in the 2300 block of Ogden Avenue, Aurora. A teen faces charges in connection to a hidden camera found in his neighbors' bedroom, North Aurora police announced Wednesday. The teen is 16 years old, male and lives in the 1100 block of Oak Crest Drive in North Aurora, according to police. The Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office authorized the following charges against the juvenile suspect: The charges are Class A misdemeanors. The suspect is being prosecuted as a juvenile, so his name will not be released, a North Aurora police statement said. A 35-year-old man faces aggravated DUI and reckless driving charges in connection to Sunday's serious car crash on Route 25, police said. Victor M. Alvarez, of the 1400 block of Golden Oaks Parkway, Aurora, was driving northbound in a silver Nissan Murano crossover sport-utility vehicle that ran off the west side of the roadway and struck a utility pole, according to a North Aurora police statement. A 35-year-old Aurora man is expected to spend the rest of his life in prison after being convicted in a 1998 double murder, a case that went unsolved for more than a decade, officials said. Jaime M. Diaz, formerly of the 1600 block of North Marywood Avenue, Aurora, was convicted Jan. 31 by a Kane County jury of two counts of first-degree murder. The Kane County State's Attorney's Office sent out information on the conviction on Friday. The jury deliberated for about three hours before returning with its verdict.
