The Geneva Vikings girls basketball team squeaked past Batavia 60-56 in a come-from-behind thriller Friday night at Geneva. Eight fourth-quarter points by Geneva's Abby Novak held off a 9-point fourth quarter by Batavia's Liza Fruendt, who had a brilliant game and finished with 26 points for the Bulldogs. In a fast-paced, high-scoring first quarter, Batavia sprinted to a 17-14 lead on the strength of 9 points by Fruendt and 8 by Sami Villarreal. Morgan Seberger scored 5 and Sami Pawlak 4 for the Vikings in the first quarter. In the second, the Vikings got off to a good start and Sidney Santos gave Geneva an 18-17 lead with 6:32 showing.
