Start celebrating Halloween early by burning some calories Saturday morning in the first-ever Trick or Trot 10k through downtown Geneva. What could be better than a healthy jog through the historic streets on a cool, fall morning? Maybe the post-race party and breakfast or the knowledge that you've got enough room to sample the desserts and appetisers of the best chefs in the area in the 2nd annual "Harvest Taste" that starts at 1:30 p.m. at The Little Traveler. McCarthy, Urlacher Call It Quits: Will Jenny Stay in Geneva?

It looks like "Brienny," aka America's Cutest Couple, is over. No news on how long McCarthy might stay in Geneva.

Say it isn't so, Jenny and Brian! You were indeed an adorable couple. But now it's back to being good friends, at least according to People magazine and any number of sources. Jenny told People magazine Thursday (Aug. 16, 2012) that, sadly, the two were breaking up. "Brian and I have decided to turn our romance into an amazing friendship," she said in a statement to People. She promised to be Urlacher's biggest cheerleader and finished the statement with a sentiment we all share: "Go, Bears!" The story, of course, spread like wildfire, and has since been reported in many places, including the Chicago Sun-Times, the New York Daily News, NBC5 and Sports Illustrated. America's cutest couple were seen numerous times in sleepy, enchanting …

Police Find Woman Who Approached 2 Boys; Turns Out To Be Misunderstanding

Kudos to the Geneva Police Department and the public for helping to identify the person who approached two young boys on Saturday.

As a result of the previously-released Geneva Police Department press release requesting information about a subject who had approached two juveniles on Aug. 11, 2012, the officers were able to identify the subject. "It has been determined that the subject was not attempting to abduct the juveniles; rather, it was a misunderstood gesture of goodwill," the Police Department said in a Tuesday afternoon press release. The subject contacted the Police Department and explained the circumstances, and officers were able to confirm the subject’s account of the incident. The original press release followed a report of a suspicious incident in the 300 block of Campbell Street. According to reports, two brothers, ages 8 and 10, were approached by a …

More Urlacher-McCarthy Sightings in Geneva

An alert Patch reader sends this photo of the big "U" license plate.

Jenny McCarthy says she's moving back to Chicago, but there's still some evidence that she's Out & Around in sleepy, enchanting Geneva, IL. A recent Twitter post by McCarthy says she's singing a Sweet Home Chicago tune these days: "After 20 yrs I'm moving back to chgo. Thanks LA. Ill be back to work here but my heart is in chgo. #happychicagogirl" Jenny is, of course, the actress, model, game-show host, author and "Mommy warrior and cellulite killer," according to her Twitter account bio, who is purported to be renting an abode somewhere in Geneva during the summer. She also happens to be dating Chicago Bear Brian Urlacher, so there is much commotion in the celebrity gossip world. NBC 5's "Grizzly Detail" website says that "Jenny Hopes to …
