Father of NBA Great Dan Issel Dies
A visitation will be held this Friday in Batavia. Issel's mother passed away on Jan. 15.
Robert Issel, age 85, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, formerly of Batavia, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2012 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. He was born, May 12, 1927 in Arlington Heights, IL, the son of John Issel and Minnie Thomas. He was united in marriage to Eleanor Meyer on November 29, 1947. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church (H.S.V. AR.) and long time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church (Batavia, IL.). He owned and operated Issel Painting & Decorating for many years in Batavia, enjoyed fishing, playing cards and watching basketball. He is survived by his two children, Kathi (Steve) Wastel of Hot Springs Vlg, AR. and Dan (Cheri) Issel of Windsor, CO., daughter in-law Paula Issel …
