New investors have been looking at the property, a spokesman said.
A group of California investors who purchased Charlestowne Mall for $9.5 million in 2010 are entertaining potential buyers for the facility, although the mall is not officially on the market, the Kane County Chronicle reported Saturday. A spokesman told the Chronicle that the owners have been approached by “multiple investor groups” that have shown interest in the property, which has languished in the years since it opened in 1991. The decline has some wondering whether or not the mall should be torn down. That was at least one option residents were asked to consider during an August 2012 “visioning” session that was part of the process for drafting the city’s 2013 Comprehensive Plan, which is under review by the St. Charles Plan …

Take a trip to the carnival and benefit Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley. Take a ride on the carousel or ferris wheel to raise money to help adults improve their English skills. The carnival will be held in the parking lot of the Charlestowne Mall April 25-29. It is being hosted by Windy City Amusements. The carnival features rides, amusements, games and food. Unlimited ride specials are available for $20 per person per day. The carnival runs Wednesday and Thursday from 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 1 p.m. – 6 p.m.

The final two films in the "Harry Potter" series will be shown back-to-back starting at 9 p.m. July 14 at Charlestowne 18 theaters in St. Charles. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 will be shown, followed by an opening-night screening of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 at midnight, according to a press release from Classic Cinemas. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 will be shown in 3-D and 2-D, and a limited number of free Harry Potter 3-D glasses will be available at the 3-D presentation.
