On Friday night, chestnuts were roasting over open fires and carolers could be heard on every street corner as Geneva warmly welcomed this Christmas season with the annual tradition of the Christmas Walk.
Freshly made warm candy canes, sugar cookies, cocoa, carolers, a nativity scene and friendly merchants transformed downtown Geneva on Friday night as Santa Claus was welcomed and persons young and old were enveloped in a winter wonderland. For more than 40 years, Geneva residents have eagerly awaited the first weekend in December, when the town is filled with a festive glow and merriment of the holiday season. Presented by the Geneva Chamber of Commerce with the support of the city, police, Fire Department and Public Works Department personnel, the Christmas Walk drew a large crowd of people who ushered in the holidays by enjoying a relaxing evening mingling with friends while casually strolling about the well-decorated streets of Geneva. …

Geneva Commons is participating in the citywide Festival of the Vine events on Sept. 10. Here are the details.
Geneva’s citywide Festival of the Vine and Flavor Fare is extending to Geneva Commons for one day from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, when the public is invited to enjoy food, wine, music and family fun, plus special sales and promotions at many stores throughout the center. The center’s Flavor Fare will be held in the Big Tent near the Bell Tower, featuring wines from around the world, plus food samplings from Big Fish Grille, Claddagh Irish Pub, Noodles & Company and Yogen Früz. Tickets for food and wine are available for purchase in the tent for $1 each (cash only). Entrees and wines require a varying number of tickets.
