Burglars Smash Windows, Take Cash Register from Geneva Citgo Near Train Depot

About $250 to $300 is taken from the gas station and car wash located near the Geneva Metra station.

The Geneva Police Department confirmed Saturday that a burglary was reported Friday at the Geneva Citgo station, 618 S. First St. Geneva Polce Department Cmdr. Julie Nash said the police report had not yet been completed but she could confirm that there was a burglary and cash was taken. Several Patch readers called or e-mailed to ask what had happened. "I stop there every day for a paper, and yesterday (Friday), there were several people there dusting for prints, and the front windows were smashed," one reader said. Patel Joyesh, an employee of the Citgo, said Saturday that the burglary was discovered when employees arrived at work, around 5:30 a.m. "They broke the front door and took the whole register," he said. Geneva Police Arrest 2 Adults for Burglary, Theft at Retail Store

Geneva police arrested two adults on charges of burglary and theft after an usual incident at Tilly's in the Geneva Commons. Michelle Grocesley, 21, of Aurora and David McCrary, 19, of Aurora each were arrested on charges of burglary and theft under $500 after an incident at around 2 p.m. Jan. 25 at the "surf, skate, motocross and lifestyle clothing, shoes and accessories" store at 514 Commons Drive. According to the Police Department synopsis sheet, a group of five people entered Tilly’s at around 1:50 p.m. One of the group, Grocesley, asked an employee if she could use the restroom but was told the restrooms were not available for public use. Other members of the group caused a distraction, and Grocesley entered a back room. The store …

Police Nab Teen Burglary Suspects Near Route 31

A man's description helped officers track down the accused, both 14 years old, in North Aurora on Wednesday. Here's a recap of the chase.

A quick response and police teamwork on Wednesday in North Aurora resulted in the arrest of two vehicle burglary suspects. Two 14-year-old boys from Joliet face charges in connection to a Wednesday morning car burglary. The incident occurred shortly before 9:18 a.m. in the 100 block of Overland Drive, according to a news release. On Wednesday morning the two teens entered a man's unlocked vehicle while it was parked in a parking lot in the 100 block of Overland Drive, according to an initial police investigation. Police said the teens took a cell phone, keys and loose change. The man chased the teens about a half-mile east to the area of Rt. 31 and Airport Road but lost them. POLICE: Batavia Man, 19, Faces Burglary Charges in Golf Course Break-In

The man was found during a search Wednesday near the Pottawatomie Park Golf Course, according to police. Here's what happened.

A Batavia man faces multiple burglary charges after police were called to investigate an alarm at a golf course clubhouse early Wednesday morning. Taylor B. Erickson, 19, of the 700 block of Walnut Street in Batavia, was charged with two counts of burglary and one count of possession of burglary tools in connection with the incident, St. Charles Police said in a press release. A Kane County judge set Erickson's bail Wednesday at $15,000, according to court records. To be released, he or someone else must post 10 percent, or $1,500, plus a $46 processing fee. St. Charles Police Arrest Man for Burglary

Suspect was caught at scene of crime, police said.

St. Charles police arrested a 35-year-old Aurora man in connection with a burglary on the 2700 block of Turnberry Road Monday. Responding to a 911 call, police observed a man identified as Aric A. Liberati, 2323 Twilight Drive, Aurora, running from the residence in question, officials said in a release. After a brief foot chase Liberati was caught by officers. On Monday morning at 10:17 police responded to a call regarding a suspicious noise reported by an occupant of the residence. TriCom dispatchers advised the officers that an occupant at the house observed a male subject wearing a green safety vest looking into the rear sliding glass door. Police Blotter: Paraphernalia and a Bungled Burgle

Possession of a controlled substance and the arrest of two desperados make up some of the latest police activity, courtesy of the Batavia PD.

RECKLESS DRIVING Eric G. Decker, 47, of Naperville, was charged May 27 with reckless driving, speeding more than 40 miles over the limit, and driving without insurance at Kirk Road and Pine Street. Reports say Decker posted bond and was released with a court date of July 10. BURGLARY Prudence Montenegro, 26, and Martin Montenegro, 23, both of West Chicago, were charged with burglary on May 27 in the 1000 block of Kingsland Drive. Police reports say both were taken to Kane County Jail.  CANNABIS POSSESSION Dustin W. Sronce, 21, of the 700 block of Blaine Street, was arrested May 27 for possession of more than 10 but less than 30 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Police reports say Sronce was released with a court date on July 3.  …

St. Charles East Students Charged With Burglary

Youths charged with stealing items from classrooms and school offices in April.

Three St. Charles East High School students have been implicated in a rash of burglaries at the school in April. St. Charles police charged Shane R. Carroll, 18, 3123 Raphael Court, and two 16-year-old students with burglary following a month-long investigation. According to a St. Charles Police Department press release a school club met at St. Charles East on April 21. During the meeting three of the students at the meeting began to wander around the school. During their wanderings the students entered offices and classrooms and removed various itmes including cash, calculators, flash drives, laser pointers, keys and school passes.
