St. Charles Police said they first encountered Jason Charles Carroccio, 30, of Melbourne, Fla., as he was urinating in public in the 200 block of West Main Street. He was cited for public urination and was arrested at 1:30 a.m. Sept. 16 at Cedar and North 2nd streets on a DeKalb County warrant for criminal damage to property, according to police reports. He was transferred to the custody of the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. A Geneva driver whose car sustained significant damage believes a rock launched from a lawnmower was the cause, but his report remains unsubstantiated, according to police reports. An unknown object damaged the rear driver’s side of a Chevrolet Equinox while the owner was driving in the 800 block of Crissey Avenue …

When confronted with hateful graffiti — in pink paint no less — one Geneva man didn’t wait for someone else to clean it up. A resident in the 200 block of North Lincoln Avenue found the image of a swastika painted in pink on the sidewalk. The image was so offensive, the man went and found his sander and set to work trying to sand the image off the sidewalk, according to police reports. A nearby neighbor told police the incident took place sometime between 8 p.m. Sept. 2 and 10 p.m. Sept. 3. The neighbor’s intentions were good, but the sander was making minimal progress so a condition report was filed to have the Geneva Public Works Department remove the paint.
