The Batavia Fire Department provides emergency and fire prevention services for the city and township of Batavia. TheMore department works out of two locations but its main facility, Station 1, is on Batavia's east side. The latest east side station opened in 2007 and includes the department's administrative offices. The latest west side station, Station 2, also opened in 2007.

The department responded to 3,250 emergency response calls in 2009, Batavia Fire Chief Randy Deicke said. The number includes medical- and fire-related incidents.

The department's fleet includes four fire engines, one ladder quint, one pumper squad, three ambulances, four staff vehicles, a technical rescue trailer, a breathing trailer and a public education trailer.

In addition to its firefighters, the department has 12 paramedics and 31 part-time members.

This not-for-profit weekday child care facility is licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and FamilyMore Services to serve the community.

The pre-school offers a Christian environment for children to grow and develop through play in a secure and safe surrounding.

Batavia Covenant Church began almost 140 years ago when a small group of people met with the idea to form a church to help the homeless after the Great Chicago Fire. The group moved to this current location37 years ago, where the pre-school is located.
