Weekend Picks: Contemporary Dance at Water Street Studios

Connect the Dots will lead audience members through the entirety of Water Street Studios with improvised and choreographed material featuring three dancers.

Water Street Studios welcomes back Core Project, the dance-based interdisciplinary arts collective of Chicago, with an evening of roving performance titled Connect the Dots, which will lead audiences throughout the galleries and studios of WSS.  The intimate performance will take place at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11.

Tickets are only $7 and can be purchased on Core Project’s website or at WSS.

The third annual WSS concert features the works of both Core Project artists and their guests. Connect the Dots is an evening-length work, featuring the choreography of four Core Project artists, a wide range of audio and video manipulations and music from Core Project artists as well as Mexican Institute of Sound, The Rolling Stones, TV on the Radio, Antonia Vivaldi and more.

Connect the Dots will lead audience members through the entirety of WSS with improvised and choreographed material featuring three dancers.  Audiences will be ushered through the work and be up close and personal with the performers.  Thus, they will have to make choices on what they will focus on, how close they will get to a performer, and take an active role in their viewing of the piece.
