Bulldogs Fans! Get Pumped for Playoffs and a State Meet This Weekend
Boys cross country team travels to Peoria, football team rolls on to Rolling Meadows.
You can support Batavia sports this weekend by attending one of two (or both if you can drive really fast ... or teleport) state post-season competitions.
Batavia's cross-country team will make history by going to Detweiller Park in Peoria to compete in the Class 3A state race on Saturday, Nov. 9.
Meanwhile, the second round of the Illinois High School Association state football playoffs continues at 6 p.m., as the Batavia Bulldogs take on Rolling Meadows at Rolling Meadows.
Batavia is ranked second in Class 6A, with an overall record of 9-1. Rolling Meadows is ranked 10th and has a record of 7-3.
But Rolling Meadows is on a (sorry) roll, upsetting No. 7 seed Grayslake North 49-20 last week. The Mustangs went ahead 42-0 in the third quarter and just pushed Grayslake around like rag dolls, according to an article in the Daily Herald. And the Knights averaged 35 points a game until that point.
Rolling Meadows High School is located at 2901 Central Road.
