Week Ahead: City Budget Talks, Preschool Fair and a Chicago Pet Show

The city of Batavia is considering a fee increase for leaf collection, Rotolo has parent-teacher conferences on Friday and there's a big Chicago Pet Show at the Kane County Fairgrounds on the weekend ahead.

As always, if we missed any big events coming up next week, let us know in the comments field, add the event on Patch or contact Rick Nagel at rickn@patch.com.

City of Batavia Budget

The budget meetings are set for Nov. 7 and 14, according to a memo from City Administrator Bill McGrath, and there might be issues in the budget which might benefit from a little more discussion.

The 2014 budget contains a $0.75 increase in the monthly fee, pegged to a similar overall program increase. It's scheduled for discussion at the Tuesday Nov. 5, 2013 Joint Committee of the Whole agenda.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Rotolo Middle School students will have a half day on Nov. 8, when parents and teachers will have a chance to get together.

Preschool Fair

Trying to decide on a preschool for your child? Stop by the Batavia Public Library on Monday for a look at various Batavia and Geneva preschools.

Chicago Pet Show - St Charles

Join the Chicago Pet Show this coming Saturday, Nov. 9, and Sunday, Nov. 10, at the Kane County Fairgrounds in St. Charles.
