PHOTOS: Batavia Goes Bald For Good Cause

Police officers, children and artists lost their locks during a St. Baldrick's event at Water Street Studios last Thursday. Here's a gallery of photos from the event.

Adults and kids alike got some drastic haircuts in Batavia last Thursday.

This group, dubbed the Water Street Shavees, went under the razor at to support the St. Baldrick's Foundation. The foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding promising research for childhood cancers, and to give survivors long and healthy lives, according to its website.

Penny Boedigheimer, a Geneva police officer and mixed media artist, organized . She, the shavees and other participants raised thousands of dollars for the cause.
