Thursday in Batavia: Halloween Costume Sale, Fraud Prevention, Teen Gaming

From dusty trunks to fraud to teen gaming, here are three events in Batavia.

Fraud is one of those crimes that happens way more often than one might think. And, of course, that includes Batavia. You can learn more about how to prevent it at a Batavia program on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013.


Oberweis Hosts Fraud-Prevention Event


A Fraud Prevention Program is scheduled for 10 a.m., Oct. 3, at Batavia City Hall, 100 N. Island Ave. in Batavia. Representatives from the Attorney General’s Office will provide information about identity theft and common fraud tactics often used to target senior citizens, such as Internet lotteries and mail scams.


Teen Gaming Night


Teens are invited to the Library for an evening of video games, trading card games, and board games. Stop in for any amount of time. No registration required.

All Dressed Up Costumes is at the Campana Building, 901 N. Batavia Ave. "Looking for costumes for Halloween? ... This will be the pace to go!!!"
