The Batavia Historical Society and the Batavia Depot Museum will present a program on the history of Batavia sports 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at the City Council Chambers at Batavia City Hall, 100 N. Island Avenue.
In the first 100 years of Batavia’s rivalry with Geneva (1913-2013), the teams met on the gridiron 94 times. Game 95 was played on Sept. 13, and Batavia's Library Director George Scheetz will share facts and figures on "The Biggest Game of the Season: Batavia Bulldogs vs. Geneva Vikings". The program will include statistical highlights such as the most lopsided scores, to playing fields, to athletic conferences and school traditions.
