Batavia Fireworks WILL Happen at 9:30 p.m. July 4, Mayor Says

Batavia's annual July 4th fireworks are still set to go off on the west side. Conditions are dry but the city is ready. Have fun!

Never fear: Batavia's 4th of July fireworks spectacular is still a go, Mayor Jeff Schielke said.

"Batavia fireworks are on tonight," Schielke told Batavia Patch shortly before 7 p.m. on July 4.

The Sky Concert show will begin at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and can be viewed from on the corner of Millview Drive and West Main Street, or at the Athletic Fields on West Main Street.

The fireworks show is scheduled to end at 10 p.m., according to an online message from .

Food can be purchased from Savor-The-Flavor Food Vendors at Engstrom Park beginning at 5 p.m. and the band, Automatic Fixx, takes the stage at 7 p.m. They will play until about 9:15 p.m.

The July 4 weather forecast for Batavia calls for a low of 75 degrees and partly cloudy skies.

The is the host for the show, but the sponsors the display through private donations and fundraisers. Donations for the show are accepted at BataviaFireWorks.org. A donation of $5 will also be taken at retail parking lots prior to the show.

Traffic Info

Batavia Police released the following info this evening:

  • At 9 p.m. July 4, Main Street in Batavia will be closed between Feece Drive to the west and Van Nortwick to the east.
  • Traffic on Main Street west bound will be directed South and West on Randall Road.
  • Traffic on Wilson and McKee Street west bound will be directed north.

Parking

Feel free to park at any of these lots for a $5 donation. All proceeds benefit the fireworks show.

  • Batavia High School parking lots on Wilson and Main Street
  • Ace Hardware parking lot, 1901 W. Wilson St.
  • Wilson Business Center parking lot

Handicapped parking will be reserved and available at the High School parking lot on Main Street.

Absolutely no parking will be allowed on Wilson Street or Main Street between Van Nortwick Avenue and Randall Road or on Randall Road from Main Street to McKee Street.

Behave Yourselves

Batavia Police will patrol the show. The following items are prohibited:

  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Sparklers
  • Firecrackers
  • Handheld explosive devices 
  • Bringing dogs or other pets at the show
  • Entering Mooseheart property
  • Riding bikes or scooters on school grounds where people are assembled for the show

Safety First

  • The event's First Aid station will be located nearby at the . west side fire station, 1400 Main St.
  • Lost children will be directed to Engstrom Park where the Batavia Emergency Services & Disaster Agency (ESDA) will be staged. If a child is lost, locate a police officer and respond to ESDA.
