Bulldogs Go Big For Football Pairings Night Saturday

Batavia football players, parents and fans will gather at the high school to find out who their first playoff opponent will be. BATV will broadcast the festivities live.

Wanna party with some Batavia football players?

Then come to  on Saturday night, where the players will join their families, coaches and fans to watch as this year's football playoff pairings are announced.

Residents are invited to come to the high school, 1201 W. Main St, to watch as the parings are announced live. Everyone will gather in the gym at 8 p.m. Please use the school's main entrance right off Main Street to get to the celebration.

About 250 guests will attend a light dinner at the school before the event begins, according to Dennis Piron, Batavia's head football coach.

The Bulldogs have remained undefeated all season. They for their second shutout this year.

Friday's home game against Streamwood is the last one of the regular season.

Lights, Cameras Everywhere

While the audience watches the results come in, both BATV and Comcast SportsNet will be talking to Piron and players at the event for separate programs.

BATV will be there for the entire event providing a live feed to the community of player and coach interviews, parent and fan reactions, and commentary on the brackets. 

Comcast SportsNet has also contacted the school, according to an e-mail from Piron. Comcast reportedly plans to have a field crew at Batavia High School to record fan and player reactions to the IHSA playoffs. This will be part of the statewide show that all schools in Illinois will likely be watching—the very same one that will be on a big screen in the gym!

BATV will air its program live on Comcast Channel 17 in Batavia, AT&T U-verse Channel 99 throughout all of Northern Illinois and streaming online at http://batv.us/public-stream.

You can also tune into the actual IHSA Football Playoff Pairing Show on CLTV, Comcast Channel 53, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Who's Next?

Batavia takes on Streamwood at home for the last game of the regular season. It starts at 7:30 p.m. this Friday, Oct. 21.
