Batavia Girls Basketball: Morton Tourney Recap, Week 3 Schedule

Here's what happened last week and here's where the team is headed next.

The girls basketball team is off and running at this season.

This past weekend the Girls team participated in the Morton High School Thanksgiving tournament. In 4 games played, Batavia finished 2-2. The wins were over Freeport HS (62-57) and Moline HS (41-39). The losses came against Morton HS (61-36) and Normal Community HS (42-39). In the victory against Freeport, Batavia overcame a 13-point deficit just prior to halftime to win the game. 

In the victory vs. Moline HS, Batavia was not in the lead until the final minutes of the game. Liza Fruendt came up big in the tournament. Fruendt scored 22, 11, 14, and 15 points in the four games. Miranda Grizaffi also put up 13 points vs. Freeport. The Bulldogs are currently 3-2 on the season. This week's games include:

  • Vs. Elgin St. Edward on Thursday 12/1
  • Vs. St. Charles East on Saturday 12/3
