42-Point First Quarter Lifts Bulldogs Over Winless Maroons
Batavia advances to 8-1 overall and steps into the IHSA playoffs.
It wasn't anything like the Aledo, TX, Bearcats' 91-0 stomping of Fort Worth's Western Hills, but it might have been if Batavia head coach Dennis Piron were a bully instead of a Bulldog.
Batavia scored 42 points in the first quarter but eased up for a final and respectable 62-14 win.
Batavia advances to 8-1 on the season; the Elgin Maroons finish 0-9.
Now the question is whether the Bulldogs will be competing in Division 6A or 7A for the Illinois High School Association playoffs. We'll know more about who the Bulldogs will face — and when — after the IHSA Pairings show on Comcast SportsNet Chicago.
