Ainsworth, Klein, Santacaterina Named to GHS Athletics Hall of Fame

Jeff Ainsworth '68, Dr. Jim Klein '90, Jackie Santacaterina '05 will be inducted to the Geneva High School Athletic Hall of Fame on Feb. 7.

The Class of 2014 inductees into the Geneva Community High School Athletic Hall of Fame on Feb. 7 include a late-1960s football and wrestling standout who made a career of teaching and coaching both sports in the western suburbs; a football receiver and track sprinter who went on to football stardom at the University of Illinois and who is now a university professor; and a Viking soccer superstar who became soccer MVP and team captain at the U of I and is now playing soccer professionally when she’s not doing overseas mission work and helping counsel young athletes.

They are, respectively, Jeff Ainsworth ’68, Dr. Jim Klein ’90 and Jackie Santacaterina ’05, and all three have indicated they’ll be present for the 14th annual induction ceremonies, set for Friday evening, Feb. 7, 2014, in the school’s main contest gymnasium, during halftime of the Geneva-vs.-Streamwood boys’ varsity basketball game (set to tip off at 7:15 p.m.).
