Batavia Public Schools Observe Veterans Day

Various ceremonies and assemblies were held across the district. Here's a recap and some pictures of the flag-raising ceremony at the high school.

Batavia Public Schools did their part this month to remember America's heroes for Veterans Day.

Various ceremonies and assemblies were held across the district, with local veterans and family members of students that are currently serving.

The flag-raising ceremony pictured here took place at Batavia High School. Two WWII veterans, Mr. Casey and Mr. Wagner, were in attendance.

Nov. 11

  • The Batavia VFW held its annual Veterans Day Ceremony.

Nov. 9

  • An assembly at West Aurora High School included a video tribute to Chris Patterson of North Aurora. Patterson was serving his country in the Indiana National Guard when he died during a mission in Afghanistan.
