School District 101 to Hire Assistant Director of Finance, Energy Manager

District 101 shores up hiring as the 2013-14 school year draws near.

Batavia School District 101is expected to approve the hiring of a new assistant finance director and district energy manager at Tuesday's School Board meeting, as well as new teachers, administrators and support staff.

Administrators


Lindsay Jannotta will be the district's new assistant director of finance, starting Aug. 5, at a salary of $70,000. 

Robert Schmidt has been named district energy manager, effective in August, at a salary of $60,000.

Colleen Moran will be the new division coordinator of student services at Rotolo Middle School, effective Aug. 16. Her salary is $73,000.


Teachers


Julie Preble is a new gifted-curriculum team who will spend half her time at Hoover Wood School and half at H.C. Storm School, effective Aug. 16, at a salary of $67,229.

Andrew Ray will be a half-time social studies teacher at Batavia High School starting Aug. 16, at $24,285.

Sara Kalelkar is a .22 full-time equivalent who will teach general music at Rotolo Middle School, starting Aug. 16. Her salary is to be determined.

Bernice Schopf's contract to teach industrial ed graphics at Batavia High School, will be increased from .33 FTE to full time effective Aug. 16, at a salary $41,099.


Classified Employees


The district also is expected to hire several hourly employees, including:

  • Madilyn O’Mara, occupational therapist, starting Aug. 9, 2013, at a wage of $45.60 per hour.
  • Nicole Seibert, occupational therapist, starts Aug. 9, at $51.10 per hour.
  • Marsha Schuster, associate secretary at H.C. Storm School, starts Aug. 12, at $11.50 per hour.
  • Emily Seyller, a classroom paraprofessional at Batavia High School, starts Aug. 16, at $11.50 per hour.
  • Valerie Skogman, a special-education paraprofessional at J.B. Nelson School, stats Aug. 16, at $12 per hour.
  • Anne VanMaldegiam, an administrative technology assistant at Rosalie Jones Administration Center, started July 15 at $23.25 per hour.
  • Mary Wangler, a Learning Center paraprofessional at J.B. Nelson School, starts Aug. 16, at $11.50 per hour.
  • Kelly Ward, a part-time associate secretary at J.B. Nelson School, starts Aug. 12, at $11.50/hour.

Other Resignations, Adjustments


  • James Addis, network engineer at Rosalie Jones Administration Center, resigned effective July 26.
  • Thaddeus Tousana, a special ed paraprofessional at H.C. Storm School, resigned effective Aug. 1.
  • The district received a letter of retirement from James Schmitz, who taught printing/graphics at Batavia High School, effective June 3.
  • Kelli Robinson, a registrar at Batavia High School, will decrease from 260 days to 230 days effective July 1.
