Batavia Whiz Kid: Megan LeResche

Each week Batavia Patch recognizes outstanding young people in the community.

Know a great kid who made Eagle Scout, or did your local club sports team take the championship? They may be our next .

Here's this week's featured student:

  • Name: Megan LeResche
  • Grade: 12 (Senior)
  • School
  • Accomplishment: Megan was one of five students from the Batavia High School Music Program to participate in the Illinois Music Educator Association's All-State Conference held in January in Peoria, IL.
  • Key to awesomeness: Megan plays tuba in the Batavia High School Wind Symphony. She was selected to participate in the "Future Music Educator" seminar at the All-State Conference. Future educator participants were mentored and introduced to various aspects of the profession. They were also paired up with established music educators in the state. The group learned about the diverse aspects of music education and participated in sessions specifically designed for future teachers.
