Batavia IMSA Teacher New President Of Teachers Math Council

Dr. Don Porzio of Batavia begins his two-year term with the goal of increasing membership in the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics.

Illinois Math and Science Academy faculty member Dr. Don Porzio was elected president of ICTM by members of the state organization whose goal is to "foster greater interest in the teaching of mathematics at all grade levels" according to its website.

Dr. Porzio, who has taught mathematics at the prestigious school for 14 years, said in a news release that his goal is to increase membership in the organization.

"One way I hope to do this is to work with the Board and members of ICTM to make our website the 'go to' place for mathematics teachers and teacher trainers in Illinois," he said in the release.
