UPDATE: Snow, Dangerous Travel Conditions

A winter storm watch is in effect.

... LIGHT FREEZING RAIN THROUGH EARLY EVENING WITH LIKELY SIGNIFICANT WINTRY ACCUMULATION FOR PART OF THE REGION SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHICAGO HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM
WATCH FOR HEAVY SNOW AND SLEET...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM
SATURDAY TO 6 PM CST SUNDAY. 

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon.

Timing


On Saturday and Sunday, the potential exists for significant snow and sleet accumulation due to a second storm system.

Impact


Obviously, the ice will make roads and sidewalks dangerously slippery Friday and Saturday.

On Saturday and Sunday, the snow could be mixed with more freezing rain, producing another glaze of ice on Saturday, and even-more slippery conditions.
