The Streetscape project will be coordinated with the Wilson Street Traffic Modernization & Interconnect Project that has already begun on Wilson Street at Washington Ave and River Street, the city of Batavia reports.

Overall, the streetscape project will provide Batavians with a shared community space, but it also will be updating underground utilities, lighting and infrastructure.

Sidewalks will be installed to navigate the northeast corner of Wilson and River Street to eliminate the necessity of using stairs to walk or ride on the public walk. State-funded projects include pedestrian/bike crossings on both Batavia Avenue and Washington Street.
