Veolia Environmental Services Name Changed

The City of Batavia's contracted solid waste and recycling services company has a new name.

Veolia Environmental Services Solid Waste in late November combined with Advanced Disposal Services, Inc., the city announced on its website. Advanced Disposal acquired Veolia for $1.9 billion, according to a company press release. This is the largest transaction in this industry since 2008, the release said.

The joint company will operate under the Advanced Disposal name.

With the acquisition of Veolia, Advanced Disposal will become the largest privately-owned environmental services company in the U.S., the release said. The company has operations in 20 states and annual revenues of about $1.4 billion.
