Night Work Continues in Downtown Batavia

Work includes rock excavation, which increases noise levels. In general, night work takes place from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Night work for downtown Batavia's Streetscape project continues next week, Monday, June 17 through Thursday, June 20. Night work takes place generally between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.

Here's what going on for the week ahead:

  • The installation of the mainline water main and sanitary services will continue this week from Batavia Avenue to Water Street. Once the water main is completed in this area the contractor will complete the testing of the water main, which will take about a week.
  • This work may require rock excavation, which will increase the noise level during this time.
  • Vehicle access on Wilson Street will remain open.  Single lane closures are possible during this work with flaggers directing traffic through this area.
  • Parking on the north side of the street in this area will be closed during this night work.  Parking will be open on the south side of the street as well as along Batavia Avenue and Water Street.
