Traffic Signal Work Starts Today on Kirk Road

Kane County plans to upgrade signals at Tyler Road and Ohio Avenue. Expect delays as signals may be temporarily out of service starting Tuesday, Jan. 22.

The Kane County Division of Transportation will perform traffic signal equipment upgrades at two intersections along Kirk Road — at Tyler Road and at Ohio Avenue — during the week of Jan. 21.

The city of St. Charles announced Thursday that work at East Tyler Road is expected on Tuesday, Jan. 22, and then move north to Ohio Avenue. The work is scheduled between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and is expected to be complete Friday, Jan. 25.

According to the release, traffic signals temporarily may be out of service, which means the intersections will be under four-way stop control. The city said motorists should expect long delays at these locations and are encouraged to find alternate travel routes during this time.
