Reason for running:
To continue to serve my community and remain involved at a new level as my youngest moves on to college.

Single most important priority …
Listen and learn from all entities involved. As the boards principles of governance was explained at a recent IASB candidates briefing, the board: Clarifies district purpose, connects with the community, employs the superintendent, delegates authority, monitors performance, and takes responsibility for itself.

What sets you apart from other candidates:
Having worked for the city of Batavia for the past 21 years and watching the community grow over the past 50 years I’ve lived here.

How long lived in District:

50 years

Favorite thing about the district: Still a small community feel, one middle school and high school, that rallies around and strongly supports education

Biggest problem: The same every public entity has been facing the last 10 years, that of ever growing expectations and demands placed upon it and accomplishing with less. Keep budget down. The finance committee is working with staff to find solutions. Some of the deficit is covered by reserves.

Teen suicide:
To continue to keep those measures in place that have developed programs to help support all the families and students affected.
