Tips and Tricks

Here's some things to keep in mind with the heat and electric peak alert in place:

  • If you are out in the heat, please be careful and drink fluids.
  • Make sure your pets have plenty of water.
  • Please remember to check on your neighbors and relatives.
  • Raise your thermostat a couple of degrees so the air conditioning won't kick on right away.
  • Cool your house down overnight and keep the shade closed during the day when possible.
  • The price of power has been going down at night, so it OK to use more power at night.
  • Any power you can use at night instead of during the day helps all of us!

Another peak alert will likely be issued for Friday, June 29.
