Police: Bank Robbery Reported in West Chicago

A white male took a Fifth Third Bank near Rt. 64 on Tuesday morning. Here are more details and a full suspect description.

A man robbed a bank in West Chicago on Tuesday morning, according to police.

The man took an undisclosed amount of cash from Fifth Third Bank, 1800 N. Neltnor Blvd. (Route 59) in West Chicago. West Chicago police officers responded to the bank at about 10:35 a.m. Tuesday for a report that the robbery had just occurred, according to a press release.

Officers learned the man had entered the bank and passed a note to a teller demanding money. The man then left the bank and was last seen walking eastbound towards Route 59 with an undisclosed amount of money.

Suspect Description

The robbery suspect is described as:

  • White male
  • About 25-35 years of age
  • Between 6' and 6'3'' tall
  • Colorful tattoo along right side of neck (see the pictures posted on this page)
  • Muscular build
  • Wore tan "newsboy/pageboy" cap, a dark-colored long-sleeved shirt and dark pants with white piping down the sides

Based on the physical description coupled with similar behavior exhibited in both cases, the suspect in the West Chicago incident appears to be the same suspect responsible for a bank robbery that occurred on Aug. 9 at a BMO Harris Bank location on Lake Street in Bloomingdale, police said.
