Vehicle Burglaries: GPS, Handicap Placard, Tools, Planner Among Stolen Items

Remember to lock your vehicles and remove valuables from them to avoid car burglary loss and damage.

Vehicle burglars will take just about anything, as you can see from these items collected from Batavia and Geneva blotters.

Global Positioning System Stolen—Someone took a Garmin GPS valued at $225 from a vehicle parked in the 800 block of Newberry Drive sometime prior to 4:47 p.m. June 2, Batavia police reports said.

Handicapped Parking Placard Stolen—Someone took a handicapped-parking placard from a vehicle parked at Target, 115 North Randall Road, according to a Batavia report filed around 9:57 p.m. June 1.

Tools Taken—Someone took a shoulder tool bag, electric meter, Klein Dukes and numerous tools from a vehicle parked at Taco Bell/Pizza Hut, 134 South Randall Road, according to a report filed at 4:18 p.m. May 30. The stolen items had a total value of about $600, reports said.

Daily Planner Gone—Someone took a leather daily planner from a vehicle parked in the driveway of a home in the 900 block of Union Street in Geneva sometime between 11 a.m. May 13 and 6:30 a.m. May 14, reports said. A neighbor subsequently located the planner in some bushes just south of the residence, and the owner advised that nothing appeared to be missing from the planner.
