The crashes delayed traffic on both Kirk and Fabyan for about an hour.

"With the traffic at that time of day, it was very congested," Banker said.

Truck Trouble

The pickup truck and car ended up in the center of the roadway after the crash. A truck driver tried to inch past the crash site in the redirected traffic, but ended up partially off the road instead on the southwest corner of Kirk and Fabyan.

The driver was headed east on Fabyan and turned south onto Kirk.

"The trailer wheels went into the drainage ditch," Banker told Batavia Patch. "The trailer leaned over to the side enough where he couldn’t get out."

A heavy-duty tow truck had to pull the semi out of the ditch. The car and pickup truck from the first crash had to be towed as well. No injuries were reported in the semi incident.

Banker said there were no inclement weather conditions at the time of the crash.
