UPDATE: Man Found in Fabyan Forest Preserve is Mark Busch, 31, of Batavia

Busch was previously reported missing to Batavia Police on April 2. His body was found near the east bank of the Fabyan Forest Preserve.

Mark B. Busch of Batavia was the 31-year-old man found dead on Wednesday in the Fabyan Forest Preserve, Batavia Police confirmed this afternoon.

Officials as of this afternoon have not determined a cause or manner of death. The Kane County Coroner's Office conducted an autopsy today, said Batavia Sgt. Glenn Autenrieth.

"We're going to have to wait on medical examiner's reports and (toxicology) reports," Autenrieth told Batavia Patch today.

Busch, from the 0-99 block of Oak Terrace Court, was reported missing on April 2. He was reported as being despondent before he went missing, according to a press release issued this morning.

Police are currently conducting a death investigation, but no foul play is suspected at this time. Busch's body was found off the east bank of the Fox River near the footbridge in the preserve.

"(The body) was never in the river as far as we can tell," Autenrieth said.

Geneva and Batavia police responded to the discovery of his body at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fabyan Forest Preserve, 1500 Crissey Ave., Geneva.

Police do not know when exactly Busch died.
