Unusual Thefts: Planter Stolen on Birthday; One Bike Left, One Bike Stolen

In other news, $500 in cash is stolen from a second-shift employee's locker at Johnson Controls.

Three thefts were found in police blotter items collected July 30, 2013, including $500 in cash from a worker's locker and a pot stolen from a porch while the victim was out celebrating a birthday.

Saturday, July 27 

Happy Birthday! Ceramic Planter Stolen

Someone took a green ceramic planter from the front porch of a home in the 0-100 block of Brian Lane sometime between 5 p.m. July 26and 1 a.m. July 27, reports said. The victim told police she left the residence to celebrate her birthday, and when she got home, the planter was gone. The ceramic planter and soil were valued at $100.

$500 in Cash Stolen From Locker

Someone took $500 in cash from the locker of an employee at Johnson Controls, 300 S. Glengarry Drive, sometime between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. July 26, reports said. The victim told police he believed his locker was locked at the time of the theft. A human resources manager said there were as many 200 employees in the locker room during the time frame of the theft.

Mountain Bike Swapped?

Someone took a tan mountain bicycle from an apartment in the 0-100 block of Anderson Boulevard sometime between 2 p.m. July 23 and 2 p.m. July 24, reports said.  The bicycle has a value of about $600. The owner said he found a different bicycle on the grass near the front porch, and it is believed the offender might have taken the mountain bike and left behind a blue, Giant, mountain bike.
