Two Arrested in Drug Seizure on Geneva's East Side
Cocaine, cannabis and other drugs were found at a residence on Friday, the Kane County Sheriff's Office said. Two men received multiple charges. Here's more details.
Two Geneva men were arrested on Friday morning after a search and seizure at their home on the city's east side, police said.
The Kane County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 402 Chalmers St. The officials reported to the residence at about 5 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16.
A subsequent search of the residence led to the seizure of the following items:

- About 57 grams of cocaine
- About 119 grams of high-grade cannabis
- One Glock 45-caliber handgun
- 26 hydrocodone pills
- Two ecstasy pills
- Six amphetamine pills
Two men who were present and reside at the residence were arrested in relation to the seizure.
Hector Romero-Luna, Jr., 34, was charged with:

- One count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver
- Four counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance
- One count of unlawful possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver
- One count of unlawful possession of cannabis
- One count of unlawful possession of a firearm without a FOID card
Julio Rubio, 21, was charged with:
- One count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance
- One count of unlawful possession of cannabis
Geneva Police assisted with carrying out the warrant, said Pat Gengler, Sheriff's Office spokesman. The actual investigation was conducted by the Sheriff's Office.
The charges against Rubio and Romero-Luna are not proof of guilt. A defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which it is the state’s burden to prove his or her guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
