Tri-Cities DUI Arrests, Oct. 21

A Batavia woman is charged with DUI and marijuana possession, and a Geneva man pushes a police officer. Read about these and other incidents in this week's roundup of drunken driving arrests.

GENEVA

Oct. 4: Geneva police arrested Dustin Westrom, 24, of Geneva on charges of driving under the influence and speeding, driving 42 mph in a 30 mph zone, at about 12:13 a.m. in the 0-99 block of West State Street, reports said. Westrom has a court date of Nov. 7 at the Kane County Branch Court, 530 S. Randall Road, St. Charles.

Sept. 29: Geneva police arrested Christopher Brown, 23, of Geneva on charges of obstructing justice, driving under the influence, DUI with a blood-alcohol content of .08 or more, battery, disobeying a stop or yield sign and disobeying a traffic control device after an incident at about 2:24 a.m. on a street in the 0-100 block of South Lincoln Avenue, reports said. According to the complaint in the 16th Circuit Court, Brown walked away from a police officer, then pushed away the officer and attempted to leave the area. Brown has a court date of Nov. 21 at the Kane County Judicial Center, 37W777 Route 38, St. Charles.

Sept. 27: Geneva police arrested Ashley Bellm, 27, of Batavia on charges of driving under the influence, possession of less than 2.5 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and improper lane usage around 12:21 a.m. in the 2000 block of Kaneville Road, reports said. According to the complaint in the 16th Circuit Court, Bellm possessed a multicolored glass smoking pipe and about 2 grams of marijuana. She has a court date of Nov. 7 at the Kane County Judicial Center.

Sept. 21: Geneva police arrested Janice Gearhart, 56, on charges of DUI, driving with a suspended or revoked license and illegal transportation of alcohol in the 1100 block of East Side Drive, Geneva police reports said. Gearhart has a court date of Nov. 7 at the Kane County Judicial Center.

ST. CHARLES

Oct. 14: Marty David Smith, 22, of the 33W000 block of Old Stearns Road, Elgin, was charged at 2:10 a.m. at 100 W. Main St., with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08 and improper lane use. Police said his blood-alcohol content was .213. He posted a personal recognizance bond and was ordered to appear in court Nov. 28.

Oct. 13:

  • Robert J. Alder, 27, of the 300 block of North 5th Street, was charged at 11:38 p.m. on the 1500 block of East Main Street, with DUI and improper lane use. He posted $300 bond and his driver’s license and was released pending a Nov. 15 appearance in court.
  • Edgar Ramirez, 21, of the 1200 block of Bishop Street, West Chicago, was charged at 4:02 a.m. at East Main Street and North Kirk Road with DUI, no valid driver’s license and improper lane use. He posted $300 bond and was released pending a Nov. 15 court appearance.
