Thefts in Batavia: From Retail Theft to Lawn Furniture to Eating and Running

The following information was supplied by the Batavia Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Retail Theft—A retail theft was reported at Kohl’s, 251 N. Randall Road, around 5:57 p.m. April 1. A juvenile was involved. No other information is available.

Theft—Someone took law furniture valued at $300 from a residence in the 700 block of Ekman Drive, reports said. The report was filed around 2:02 p.m. April 5.

Theft Over $500—Someone reported a theft of more than $500 in the 600 block of Eckman Drive sometime between April 4 and April 7, reports said. The report does not say what was taken.

Theft Under $500—Batavia police arrested Brian E. Swanson, 43, of West Chicago on charges of theft (class 4 felony) at El Taco Grande, 6 N. River St., around 5:25 p.m. March 27, reports said. Swanson was transported to Kane County ail, and was awaiting bond call when the report was filed. Police said Swanson failed to pay for his meal.

Mailboxes Stolen, Thefts Under $500—Someone took a mailbox from the 2000 block of Wagner Road, according to a report filed 10:27 a.m. March 24, reports said. The mailbox was removed from the post and was valued at $100. Another mailbox taken, also 2000 blcok of Wagner Road, 1:22 p.m. report March 24, removed from post. Valued at $50.
