Theft Quashed at Wal-Mart; 3 Retail-Theft Arrests at Kohl's

The following information was supplied by the Batavia Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A theft-in-progress was apparently abandoned at Wal-Mart. Also in this week's Batavia blotter were three reports of arrests on charges of retail theft at Kohl's.

Abandoned Shopping Cart

A possible theft was quashed at Wal-Mart, according to a report filed at 4:19 p.m. Nov. 17. According to the report, suspect offenders were seen taking items and left their shopping cart filled with store items at the front door after they realized they were being watched. “The subjects had been seen shoplifting the previous week,” reports said. No stolen merchandise was found after a search of their vehicle.

Juvenile Cited

A juvenile was cited for retail theft at Kohl’s, 251 N. Randall Road, according to a report at 5:17 p.m. Nov. 14. The juvenile was processed and released to a parent, reports said.

West Chicagoan Charged

Batavia police arrested Christina Roberts, 20, of West Chicago on charges of retail theft at Kohl’s, 251 N. Randall Road, according to a report filed at 2:35 p.m. Nov. 13. Roberts was transported to the Kane County Jail.

 

St. Charles Woman Charged

Batavia police arrested Susan Patton, 32, of St. Charles on charges of retail theft of display merchandise less than $300 at Kohl’s, 251 N. Randall Road, according to a report filed at 3:29 p.m. Nov. 12. Patton was released on personal recognizance and has a court date of Dec. 10.
