The man rammed his Harley into a patrol car twice during the July 18 chase, police said.

Deputies attempted to stop the motorcycle but the driver, Barsellotti, sped up and began to disobey several traffic signs and signals, according to a press release.

Barsellotti came to a construction zone near Big Timber Road and Damisch Road and turned into a driveway in an attempt to turn around. A deputy parked his squad car at the end of the driveway in an attempt to stop the motorcycle.

Motorcycle vs. Deputies, Squad Cars

Barsellotti turned the motorcycle around and rammed it into the side of the patrol car as the deputy was exiting the car, the press release said.

A second deputy who was in the squad also exited the squad and ordered the driver to stop. He accelerated the motorcycle and drove towards the second deputy and attempted to strike him.

The deputy was able to get out of the way but the motorcycle struck the squad a second time. Barsellotti again fled from the deputies on the motorcycle.

The Chase Continues

Deputies pursued the motorcycle into Elgin for a brief time. Then the pursuit turned around and began to go back west.

A Pingree Grove police officer heard the pursuit over the radio and attempted to stop the motorcycle at Rt. 20 and Reinking Road. The motorcycle struck the Pingree Grove officer and continued to travel west.

Deputies terminated the pursuit at that time. At about 1:10 a.m. on July 18, the motorcycle was found parked in the area of Ramm Road and McGough Road in Burlington Township.
